We Stamp For Cash

In the past 6 months, or so, I have completed several signings for DocPros,Inc. in Murrieta, CA. After sending invoices for each signing it was well over a month, for each, that I received a check in the mail. The second to last signing I did for them has not been paid yet and it is now 57 days past due. Another signing, just completed, isn't due until May. I was just curious to see if any other CSA's have had "slow pay" problems with DocPros? It seems like every invoice I send to them I have alot of follow-up to get payment and it is starting to become very irritating.

I have always had to follow up with an email requesting payment. After talking to them last week I got paid for 2 invoices, one at 46 days the other at 30 days.
They're a 45 day account usually, but sometimes they run up to 60. I "think" that they tell you that they're 45 day pay on the confirmation, but I didn't look them up to see. Don't remember anything bad about dealing with them. Not fast pay, but they pay.

After sending an e-mail to accounting @ docpros and posting this discussion I received a phone call from the DocPros accounting department. She was extremely apologetic over their "slow pay" practice and assured me that they were re-organizing and future payments to CSA's will be alot more timely then they have been in the past. The only issue I had was waiting almost 2 months for payment and she said that would not happen again....I sincerely believe docpros is going to try to make payments for signings within 30 days. Other than the slow pay issue I think they are a good signing company to work with.
I've worked for them several times w/in the past few months, and never an issue with payment. They do pay 30 to 45 days out but I get paid. Yeah, you may have to send a reminder, but they do pay. But don't rely on them to pay your rent...
A sincere apology to DocPros, Inc. for the, somewhat, negative post I made on April 30th regarding slow pay issues. After a personal phone call from their accounting department, explaining how they were trying to re-organize and speed up their payments to NSA's, I received two checks by overnight courrier... one of which wasn't due for payment for another two weeks. "Hats off" to DocPros, Inc. for this gesture of sincerity and professionalism. I believe that, in itself, restores my confidence with them and I encourage other NSA'S, including myself, to continue to work with DocPros, Inc..
Well.....my overall impression is that they do pay. Sometimes it takes them over 60 days to send the payments. Even though they are supposed to pay after 30 days(per contract), a little reminder after 30 days period generally works. Bargain is that at least they keep you busy. There are many companies who like to pay ASAP once the loan closes & others who pay 30 days after they get paid. Generally speaking we the notaries are on the bottom most rung of this chain. What are the notary fees they pay you for a typical signing?
Can someone explain to me why we must remind these companies to pay us? Credit Card Companies automatically charge $25.00 and up if payment is late. It is frustrating when you have to put in additional time to chase your invoices. I attended a financial management class hosted by Wachovia the other day. We were informed that some businesses purposely sit on invoices as long as possible for interest or longer access to working capital.
You're absolutely right Jacqueline... We should not have to remind companies to pay, and it is very frustrating when we have to take the time to call, email or fax them repeatedly some times, but it happens and it seems like it's been happening a lot more lately. But, what are we going to do -- not accept assignments from them? Can't afford to do that right now.
I have worked with DocPros for several years and although they have been a little slow in paying lately, they always pay, usually within 30 days. Last few months, I've had to call or email them to remind them if a payment is over 30 days, but they promptly respond and I get my checks shortly thereafter. They give me a lot of work and they're a good company to work with!
