I know exactly what you mean...people don't take into consideration that there are some places that some people don't need to be in. I mean lets face it, there is a major racial problem in Jacksonville. I'm not racist, but I went out off of Dunn Ave (a rather nice newer neighborhood) and I tell you, I was NOT welcome in that neighborhood. They want to make everything all nicey nice for the borrower, but these companies don't take a lot of things into consideration..Plus I won't go to the borrower's house if it is just a man. I can't put myself at risk like that, I have a family. We should meet up some time for a coffee or something....I mean, we are neighbors. :) Take care

Bobbi, I just read your strange notary story...girl that put chills on me!!! My dad tells me all the time that I need to carry a small pistol in my bag. I laugh because I'm not exactly the Cagney & Lacy type, but if I ever experienced a bad situation like what you encountered, I think I'd have to start packing heat!!!

Hello and thanks for the invite! I also love being a notary and the flexibility of it, well, for the most part. I also have three girls, 2,3,14, but I'm also blessed with two boys, 15 & 18. Big families are the BEST! Take care!

Bobbi,

Nice to see there are more of us around! Is Bobbi your given name or is a nickname for Barbara as "blondebobbi" said? My given name is Bobbi Jo...I go by Bobbi. I just read your craziest notary story. Man do I feel for you. I haven't been at a signing for that long (longest was 3 hours, but they eventually signed). I would make sure not to do any signings for that particular company. If you make it to the signing, and partially complete you should get your entire fee!

Thanks again,
Bobbi

About Me:
I am a wife to a very caring and loving man and also a mom to 3 very beautiful girls aging 5,6,14. They are my life and soul. I love spending so much time with them. We love going to church on Sundays to worship the Lord, the beach on the weekends, malls, zoo, amusement parks, and just about anywhere we go is a blessing. We love to travel, although it is very expensive with a family of 5, to various different places. That's where the closings come in. Ive been a notary-Signing Agent for a few years now. Have performed over 250 closings. I like the every now and then closings. Not one to do more than 3 in a day....can get confusing and seem to feel rushed. I take pride in what I do and feel that I should take every step in doing it right the first time.
Favorite Music:
I love christian music.
Best/Craziest Notary Story
I always map out on MapQuest where Im going. I recognized the area but not the Neighborhood. I said what the heck, why not. Pulled up to the house, I think it was a house, got out of the car and walked through waist high weeds to the front door. It took the young, unshaven, no shirt, just woke up, guy a few minutes to get to the door. Upon opening the door, he welcomed me in to the exremely pitch black, urine scented house and once I stepped in he SLAMMED the door shut and locked ALL 6 latches on the door. He asked me to have a seat on the couch and wait for his wife to get home. I thought instantly my life was over as I knew it. As I was straining my eyes to look for the couch in the pitch black house, I noticed that all the windows had black sheets on them. As I sat on the couch, which was his bed, I scoped out my fastest exit (if need be). I could hear kids, ages 2 and 4 in the back rooms. The guy would go back there and curse them to be quiet. Never did turn on a light. The wife came home about 5 minutes later (the longest 5 minutes of my life) and he turned on a little lamp by the couch (his bed) and we signed on our laps. I asked if we could sign on the table that looked perfectly stable (under the circumstances), but he insisted that it was broke. I really like doing closing in public places, but sometimes you just dont have that opportunity. I now always carry mace on me for the just incase, inconsiderate, A@@HOLES out there that have no respect for the ladies trying to do their jobs.
