About Me:
Born, raised and currently located in Southern California.

I run my mobile notary / freelance paralegal business, The Document Hound, out of my home. It is exactly what I need in my life at this moment. I am able to make my own schedule and am not held down in a little cubicle all day.

I am married to my Prince Charming, going on nine years and together we have our seven year old Princess, who also is the boss of me. :0)

I have two hound dogs, a bloodhoud and a basset hound, who are my fur-babies, hence the reason why my business is named The Document Hound.

Oh, and another about-me-fact is that I am also a full time law school student, which makes my life a little stressful, but in the end, it's all good...

Favorite Music:
Depends on the mood. I little bit of everything. I absolutely love talk radio! I love listening to topic dissection.
Favorite TV Shows:
The First 48, Forensic Files, Bloom & Politan on Court TV, The Sopranos, Big Love, SuperNanny, Intervention, Juvies, Dr. G Medical Examiner, The Colbert Report and General Hospital.

I really do not have time for television, but if I did, the above would be my choices to watch.
Best/Craziest Notary Story
Husband and Wife, Carol & Teresa. Went through the 99% of the signing and the last page was a page regarding Same Gender Domestic Partnership. Both signers were disgusted by this document and started complaining that the paper was discriminating against them, because Carol (the husband) had taken care of all "his" paperwork when he had his "sex change". They were angry and called their loan officer and said that they would NOT okay this loan with this kind of discrimination. I was speechless and from the speakerphone connection with the LO, he was speechless as well. After about 10 minutes of this conversation, the husband finally cracked a smile, something that he did not do for the entire signing, and started laughing. Both husband and wife said, "Gotcha!" They then proceeded to tell me and the LO how well this act worked for them when they bought a new car the month before and that he was really a he, and never had a sex change operation. His mama just named him Carol for some reason. LOL! I had never felt so uncomfortable in my life. It was really a weird scenario and of course I was polite and laughed along with them and then quickly left, telling them I had another appointment that evening. I think I lost 5 pounds just from sweating.

This week's Crazy Notary story...

Husband and Wife, Carol & Teresa. Went through 99% of the signing with no problem. The last page was a form regarding Same Gender Domestic Partnership. This is where the situation got tense. Both signers were disgusted by this document and started complaining that the paper was discriminating against them, because Carol (the husband) had taken care of all "his" paperwork when he had his "sex change". They even made me double-check his driver's license that stated he was a "male". They were s… Continue

Little Jobs

Personally, I do not mind taking the "little" notary jobs, even having to travel to a single page document signing. At the end of the day, it all adds up. I love interacting with people and I absolutely LOVE getting the chance to see the insides of most of their homes. I say most, because I have had the client who has the 20 cats in the house and that was an experience all in itself. Anyhow, when I do the little jobs, I make sure that I have my handy dandy business card magnets for their refr

Dena, I got your letter. I remembered it was on the discussion. I haven't done anything with it, but I am gathering all my documents to start sending them out. I will let you know how it all turns out. Thanks, Michele
