I saw your comment on Linda Maddox page and had to laugh. I agree-sometimes we don't know if we run a business or if it runs us. It's kind of like I've heard someone say, 'You don't HAVE to go to work' to which you say, 'Yes, I do'. They say 'why?'. You say so I can eat and pay for a roof over my head and they say, 'Right so you CHOOSE to go to work so you can eat and have a roof over your head'. Sometimes want to take a little free time but when the work comes, especially in these slower times, we have to be available to make enough to stay in this profession. :)

I do, but I have great partner ( soon to be husband) the kids are great as well. I have to say that we are pretty darn lucky in that respect. In no doubt it is still a lot of work, but well worth every bit of it. Thanks

11 is nothing to sneeze at if they pay right! I don't know how big your county is but I work in just about every county that touches the county I live in! I could do more more but Charlotte NC is close and they are always calling me to work down there but I avoid it because of the traffic situaton. Chris had a very good point about calling or doing a mailing to any and all title companies close to you! I find working for the title companies very profitable. Plus if you get in good standing with them they will continue to call you on a regular basis. Its usaully short notice but they will compensate for that! Hope this helps! Lisa

I haven't ever really been busy...My top signings are 11 in 1 month. You probably blow this away...any suggestions on beefing up my signings? My county is about 120,000 and I believe there are only 2 maybe 3 other LSAgents. Any help would be wonderful!!!

Hi Lisa! We have quite a bit in common....My mother is also a Notary and has helped me out quite a bit. I am also a mother of 2. A daughter thats 19 and a son thats 8! And there is nothing I dislike more than waiting on Docs. I also became a Notary to be able to stay at home with my son and be able to make my own hours!!! I am really enjoying my work and meeting all sorts of people. Well I hope to hear from you and have a great week. Talk to you soon!

About Me:
I am a 43 yr old mother of a 20 and 2 yr old daughters. Yes thats right I said 2! Don't tell me God doesn't have a funny sense of humor, because I for one would have to argue with you.
I became a mobile notary to be able to stay home with my youngest. Not to mention the fact that she is so wide open, I'm not sure I could find a daycare that would take her!
Favorite Music:
Linkin Park, GodSmack, Nickleback, Incubus, Plain
White Tees, Finger 11, Stone Sour..... most of the stuff the kids listen to today. I also love to listen to Santana and good ole southern rock.
Favorite TV Shows:
CSI-all of them. Law & Order- all of them. NCIS. Deadliest Catch. My new favorite is Ice Road Truckers, those guys have to have nerves of steel. Kind of like a mobile notary! LOL Oh and anything that will keep my 2 yr old quiet for more than 2 minutes.
Best/Craziest Notary Story
I once had a gentleman ask if I had ever actually dropped a set of docs. My reply was "not yet, Thank God!". This was no more than out of my mouth, than he knocked over his VERY large cup of coffee. I jumped up and grabbed the docs and stood helplessly as the coffee poured off the table into my chair, my pocketbook AND my breifcase! To my knowledge they are still in possession of one very coffee stained set of loan docs!

Dear fellow notaries....


Does non- payment make you as mad as it does me! I have a red-headed attitude anyway....but this just runnes all over me! If we make a misttake they act like it it the end of the world as we know it! But let them not pay us and its an oversite or really just not something to get upset about! Bulls*%t. The check is in the mail or I love this one...Oh my goodness that one got overlooked! Ugh!!!!!

Waiting on Doc"s

Dear Notaries,


I have been doing this for awhile now, and I want to know if it drives the rest of you as crazy as it does me to wait on doc's. Late docs can put a damper on a perfectly wonderful day!!! Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my mother drilled into my head all my life that 15 minutes early was " on time"! I am sure in time I will adjust but as for right now late docs send me running for the Tums bottle! LOL Happy signing, Lisa
